WISCONSIN STATE FAIR TO HOST GREAT HEREFORD DRIVE OF 2005
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Largest Junior
Breed Show in the World Comes to Wisconsin
WEST ALLIS, Wis., (June 24, 2003) – Wisconsin State Fair Park officials announced today that they will host the 2005 Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE) July 9 - 16, 2005. The Wisconsin Polled Hereford Association will be sponsoring and financially supporting this event. Over 2,000 National Junior Hereford Association (NJHA) members, their families and cattle are expected from more than 35 states and Canadian provinces to compete for national recognition in the owned heifer, bred-and-owned heifer, bred-and-owned bull, steer and cow-calf shows featuring 1,500 head of cattle.
Earlier this year
the Wisconsin Polled Hereford Association won the bid to host the national event
and has selected Wisconsin State Fair Park due to its location, great facility
and customer service. This
signature activity for NJHA is co-sponsored by the American Hereford Association
(AHA) and affiliated with junior and state Hereford associations nationwide.
This year’s event will “Race to Indy” July 13-19 in Indianapolis.
JNHE provides a range of interactive events for juniors and adults at the competition. Youth can attend hands-on educational, leadership and motivational training programs. Numerous scholarships are available for junior NJHA members. Social events, such as tours of Milwaukee, skating at the Pettit National Ice Center and various other activities are planned.
